You won't FUCing believe your poor, poor ears

Sometimes, there are no words. None. Some things are so fucking mindfuckingly woeful that you're resorted to baffled, stunned, pre-sick watery silence. So with that, we'll hand over to The Complete Stone Roses to tell you all about their cover of 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' featuring Clint Boon and Hooky. Yes. You read all of that correctly.

"This is the music promo video for a re-worked cover version of legendary "Joy Division/New Order" song "Love Will Tear Us Apart" performed and recorded by Scottish tribute band "The Complete Stone Roses" Special guests on the recording which took place at "Parr Street Studios" in Liverpool (Coldplay, echo & the bunnymen etc) are "Peter Hook" and "Clint Boon" and the track was also co-produced by "Hooky" with "the completes" band members and management.

This song will be available [and you can fuck off if you think we're giving you details of how to buy it, even if it IS for charity].

Watch and weep (and be sure to click through to the video and read some of the hilarious comments. Props to the 'Nickelback' commenter)

  1. If you like The Stone Roses and Joy Division, what's not to like? 2 bands for the price of one. Maybe a JD covers band could do a Roses tune. That would be top!

  7. I've nothing against cover bands, after all, they aren't the only cover band in the world, I can't just criticise them. But why oh why did they choose to record this song (a non-Roses one) with fecking Clint Boon and Hooky, is something I can't get my head round. Or rather, at the same time, why Clint Boon and Hooky decided to participate.

Sometimes, something monsterously terrible occurs in our lifetime that forces us to re-evaluate our belief in life, the world, in the nature of the human race itself. This is one of those events! How will we answer to this when our kids ask? How will we explain to future generations that we witnessed and tolerated this outrage? In Frank Zappa's words "If your children ever find out how lame you really are, they'll murder you in your sleep". Still, hope springs eternal!
On a couple of lighter notes, does the Hooky production credit mean that he actually did the demo and John Leckie really produced the released track? Also, if he really wants to raise money for charity I'd happily donate to see him don his Warsaw era Paul Rutherfordesque bondage gear and walk the streets of Manchester for 23 days and 23 hours uttering "chase me, I'm a daffodil".

  19. Hooky needs to have his bollocks cut off and shoved down his throat for his involvement in this. As for the band that recorded this, they should suffer an even worse fate.

  20. Words fail me. Why have they done this? Who thought that this utter nonsense might be a good idea?

  21. Stupid Scottish dickheads, they should take a big dump on their own legacy, form the real Josef K, Orange Juice etc and maul their songs instead.

See how far that gets before being chinned.
